United Valley Announces Summer Intern Program

We are pleased to announce a part-time Summer Business Intern Program at United Valley Insurance Services.

We are seeking a current college student or recent college graduate with interest in exploring the insurance industry. It is our hope that the Program will provide a qualified candidate with exposure to insurance terminology, products and processes and real life business and job experience in a professional business environment, all while gaining a broader understanding of the property and casualty insurance industry as a whole. In addition to the duties noted below, the Summer Business Intern will be assigned a project and will present his/her findings and conclusions to our Leadership Team upon completion of the Program.

This year’s Summer Business Intern will have primary responsibilities supporting the Service Team and will report to Elizabeth Newland, Service Team Manager. Specific duties will include assisting with routing and downloading of documents, scanning incoming mail, welcoming visitors to our office by covering our front desk and assisting with other projects. Interaction and collaboration with internship mentors and leadership team. This is a part-time, temporary paid position in our Fresno office, consisting of approximately 20-25 hours per week on an agreed schedule from June through August. Exact dates are somewhat flexible.

The successful candidate will have a pleasant positive attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work well on a team, multi-task and stay calm under some pressure. Organizational skills and clerical skills are a plus. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
