United Valley is pleased to announce a new service for our members. We have added a Risk Management Consultant to our team, Mark Smith, CPCU.
In response to our Member Advisory Council’s request to provide greater depth and support to our member agencies on larger or more complex accounts, we are pleased to announce a new service provided to our members. We have asked Mark Smith, CPCU to assume the role of Risk Management Consultant. The services Mark provides will assist our member agencies in retaining and obtaining larger or more complex risks.
NEW RISK MANAGEMENT SERVICES PROVIDED BY UNITED VALLEY
With the addition of Mark Smith as a full time risk management consultant, we have expanded our services to include:
- Consultation on alternate risk financing, captives, high deductible plans, tier placements, unbundled services and WRAP/OCIP
- Plan development for deductible analysis, loss pick development and pricing comparison
- Presentation development for proposals, benchmarks and summaries (on pricing and loss)
- Current Program Analysis including evaluation and assistance in selection of markets, coverage review and limits review
MARK SMITH, CPCU BIOGRAPHY
Mark began his insurance career in 1979 as a Field Assistant for Travelers Insurance Company. In 1984, he was promoted to an Assistant Commercial Lines Manager. In 1986, he began working for Fireman’s Fund as a Marketing Specialist then later a Commercial Lines Supervisor and then the Business Development Manager. In 1990, Mark took the position as Marketing Director for Frank B Hall (AON) and then became Vice President/ Account Executive and Large Account Manager. In 2001, he became an AVP for Arthur J Gallagher as an Account Executive/Producer. Mark’s insurance career has always been associated with the large, more complex accounts that require alternate risk financing, multinational exposures or risks having unique complexities. Mark graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Mark, while completing his undergraduate degree also completed his basic and intermediate Police Officer Standard of Training (POST) requirements. He earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1990.
