Company Relationship Manager

We are pleased to announce a job opening for a Company Relationship Manager.

To succeed in this role, the candidate should be an excellent listener and communicator, with the ability to work with company marketing representatives, underwriters, and leaders at assigned insurance carriers. Relationship skills include confidently representing United Valley’s value proposition, establishing rapport, making presentations, providing introductions internally and to member agencies; and having the occasional difficult or challenging conversation.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, be a strategic thinker, have excellent writing skills, and be a good problem-solver; professional and poised, representing United Valley in various meetings and venues, including regional carrier meetings. The ideal candidate will be an insurance professional, passionate about doing the right thing, who leads by example, takes initiative and is comfortable working collaboratively.

THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OFTHE POSITION:

The primary objective of the role is to maintain and build strong relationships with insurance carriers, ensuring growth goals with strategic and key partners are achieved; and sharing information internally and externally to ensure success.

WHAT THE COMPANY RELATIONSHIP MANAGER DOES:

The Company Relationship Manager will be assigned responsibility for many of our insurance companies, taking the lead with local and regional relationships, and joining our agency principal in annual planning and execution of growth plans. The individual interacts internally with all departments, in close coordination with administration & operations teams: compliance, business analyst, as well as with the member services teams. The Company Relationship Manager participates in hosting United Valley events as an ambassador of our brand; joins Renaissance’s carrier/broker connectivity meetings; collaborates with others and shares information with others to help strengthen the competitiveness of the firm.

WHAT THE COMPANY RELATIONSHIP MANAGER DOES:
  • A strong understanding of property and casualty insurance, With a focus on commercial lines; and an ongoing pulse on emerging trends in the industry
  • Knowledge of general agency operations, including marketing & placement of accounts and how independent agencies work with their carriers
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret carrier production reports and profit-sharing statements
  • Must be comfortable working with all levels of carrier representatives, including marketing representatives, underwriting, claims, and management/leadership.

  • Five or more years of experience in property & casualty insurance in a relationship management, marketing, underwriting, sales or account management role

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week exempt position in our Fresno office, reporting to Rene Swan, Executive Vice President. Occasional travel is required.
